August 23, 2022: PEN Women in Translation Series, hosted by Jesse Lee Kercheval

When my internet connection Colombia failed, I almost despaired not to be able to read my translation of “Twins” from the collection “The Secret Mothers” by Basque writer Mónica Crespo. But in typical collaborative fashion, we women found a way! I sent the text to event organizer Jesse Lee Kercheval whoe read my fragment! What an honor.

All my thanks to PEN America, to the other writers and translators, to Mónica Crespo for her confidence, good humor, and attending the reading despite having COVID.
