DP Snyder

D.P. Snyder is a Hillsborough, North Carolina-based writer and Spanish-to-English literary translator. Her latest book-length translations include “Meaty Pleasures” by Mónica Lavín (2021) and “33 Dreams” by Juan Carlos Garvayo (2019 IBS Classical). Coming soon: “Arrhythmias” by Angelina Muñiz-Huberman (Literal Publishing). Other translations have appeared in Two Lines, Exile, Latin American Literature Today, World Literature Today, Reading in Translation, Asymptote, Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, and elsewhere.

In collaboration with Director Steven Blier, she translates song lyrics for The New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) and writes about Latin music for the NYFOS blog  Her translations also appear in anthologies, including Talking Books with Mario Vargas Llosa (Nebraska Press, 2021), and “Machetes Under Our Beds: An International Anthology of Words and Writings by Daughters of Latin America” (coming soon from Harper Collins, Editor Sandra Guzmán).
